If you want to pursue a lifeguard position, obtaining certification is essential. Covering everything from CPR and lifesaving first aid to water rescues, this multi-day program provides hands-on training and real-life scenario practice to ensure you develop the skills needed to respond to emergencies effectively. Whether you're new to lifeguarding or renewing your certification, this course equips you with the knowledge and confidence to perform your duties responsibly. Upon successful completion, you will earn a two-year American Red Cross certification, qualifying you for lifeguard positions.


Before enrolling in the lifeguard certification course, there are a few important requirements to ensure you're ready for training.
For a lifeguard certification review, you will need to provide proof of your current ARC lifeguard certification. Prerequisites: ✔ Swim 300 yards continuously on your front. Googles may be used. ✔ Tread water using legs only for 2 minutes (hands under armpits). ✔ Complete the following in 1min 40secs: Swim 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7-10ft to retrieve a 10lb object, return to the surface and swim 20 yards to the starting point with both hands holding the object. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
Prerequisites: ✔ Be at least 17 years old on or before the final session of the course. ✔ Hold basic certification in lifeguarding/first aid/CPR/AED. ✔ Complete an online introduction to the Lifeguard Instructor course before the pre course skills session. ✔ Obtain all course participant materials before the first session of the Instructor course.
